
Very distinguished Founder and President of the Sangre Grande Development Foundation (SGDF)
He has served the organization with great pride, dedication and commitment since its inception in 2010 and therefore, it was no surprise that he was unanimously re-elected for yet another term on April 09th, 2016.
Mr. Taylor is a graduate of two well renowned tertiary level institutions of Trinidad and Tobago namely, The Arthur Lok Jack School of Business and the University of the West Indies (U.W.I), where he successfully completed studies in the fields of Leadership Management and Social Work respectively. He also graduated from North Eastern College in Sangre Grande an Alma Mater which he shares with notables like Franklin Khan, Jack Warner, David Leader, Barbara Solomon-Kerr, Angela Burke-Brown T.C and Garfield Danclair to name a few. Currently, Mr. Taylor serves as the Personal Assistant to the Minister of Rural Development and Local Government. In addition, he has been appointed as a Director of The Tourism Development Company (TDC), where he also sits as the Chairman of the Product Development Committee.
In 2013, Mr. Eric Taylor known regionally and internationally as the “Pink Panther” successfully copped the National Calypso Monarch title of Trinidad and Tobago. The Pink Panther’s greatest mentor is Aldwyn Roberts “The Grandmaster, the Lord Kitchener” and maintains his position as one of the senior administrators at Kitchener’s Calypso Revue Tent. In 1992, he was also crowned the National Young King of Trinidad and Tobago.
Over the years, he has held numerous honourable positions. He has served as a Commissioner on the Board of the National Carnival Commission (NCC); Director on the Board of the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT); President of Trinbagonian Unified Calypso Organization (TUCO) and Vice President of the North Eastern Village Council.
In 2010, Mr. Taylor retired as Supervisor (II) in the Ministry of Community Development after providing yeoman service for over thirty (30) plus years. He has a strong passion and commitment for community development and by extension national development through the empowerment of civil society organizations. Hence, he continues to work extremely hard through the efforts of the SGDF to ensure service to the people of his community and country.
